SCHOLARSHIPS

Thank you for applying to the Mariachi Northwest Festival scholarships! We are pleased to work with higher education partners and local organizations to provide you with assistance to pursue education with your unique experience as a musician and participant of this festival. Please see the scholarship criteria, application checklist, and main application below.

Eastern Washington University - $1,000 (1)

This Eastern Washington University scholarship is typically sponsored by the Hispanic Business Professional Association (HBPA) of Spokane. Preference will be given to students with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Any incoming freshman or transfer student may apply.  The award will be spread across Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters and over four years of any academic program. The award will be dependent on participation in EWU Mariachi rehearsals and performances through each academic year. With ongoing participation, this initial $1000 award per year has the potential to be renewed annually over the course of entire degree programs taken, including undergraduate and graduate programs, and to be increased in monetary value. Cashmere valley bank -$1,500 (2)

Applicants must: be a high school senior student planning on attending any college or university, have a 2.5 Grade Point Average or Higher, have financial obstacles and needs, and have proven commitment towards goals. Recipients of scholarships, once enrolled in college, must contact Mariachi Northwest Festival. Scholarship awards must be used within the first six months of the school year. If scholarships are not used within first six months, the award will roll over into the Mariachi Northwest Festival Scholarship fund. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Alvarez family scholarship - $1,000 (2)

Applicants must: be a high school senior student planning on attending any college or university, have a 3.0 Grade Point Average or higher, have financial obstacles and needs, and have proven commitment towards goals and must be a participant of their school mariachi program. Planning to attain a degree in any health related major or any engineering major or computer science major. Recipients of scholarships, once enrolled in college, must contact Mariachi Northwest Festival. Scholarship awards must be used within the first six months of the school year. If scholarships are not used within the first six months, the award will roll back into this scholarship.

  • At least 1 (one) letter of recommendation

  • Review criteria above for additional components
